ROLE

Director of Animation

DESCRIPTION

I had the honor of being commissioned to create a short animation as part of the award-winning documentary "Taonga" by Glenda Tuaine, which explores the life of Cook Islands artist Mike Tavioni. From the initial stages of conception to the final phase of film production, my involvement encompassed a wide range of tasks. This included storyboarding, animatics, modeling, rigging, texturing, asset creation, world building, editing, compositing, and even sound design.

With careful attention to detail and a deep understanding of the film's narrative, I dedicated my skills and passion to ensure that the animation seamlessly integrated with the overall storytelling. Through the use of visual elements and compelling animation techniques, I aimed to enhance the audience's connection with the story of Mike Tavione and his artistic journey. Additionally, the incorporation of sound design further enriched the viewing experience, contributing to the overall emotional impact of the documentary.

Collaborating with Glenda Tuaine on "Taonga" allowed me to contribute my expertise in animation and sound design to create a powerful and immersive film. It was a rewarding experience to be part of such an important project, shedding light on the life and work of a talented Cook Islands artist.
